If you would like to share your story about adopting a Guardian Angel Rescue dog, please email us at gina@guardianangelrescue.org and it will be featured on this page. Please include photographs, if you have them.
I'm very thankful that you and your volunteers at Guardian Angel Rescue were able to find and save Starr to be part of our family. Starr is doing great with the kids. She's very patient and the kids love having a dog. At the dog run, she is very popular - everyone remembers her and she knows how to get affection from everyone. Starr is a medium sized dog. Her weight seems to have leveled off at just over 30 pounds. Which is almost, but not quite, too big to sit in our laps, which she loves to do all the time. Thank you again for saving Starr. I wish you and your volunteers the best in saving other dogs and placing them with families where they can feel loved and bring their families happiness and joy. ~ Ben, Bergen County, NJ |
My husband I decided we were going to adopt a dog. Through friends of ours we heard of Guardian Angel Rescue. We were both a little apprehensive and undecided on what type of dog we wanted to invite to share our home with us. |
My wife and I adopted Raven in December 2010. She adjusted to us and our
8 year old cat Lilo immediately. Raven is definitely a "Daddy's girl". I
can't go anywhere without her being my shadow. We fell in love with her |
Lexi's life started off as "one of the TX 250" but now she is enjoying her new life as "one in a million"! She has proven to be a true loyal, bright, faithful Rottie girl! We love her:) ~ Thank you, Gina & Meghan

We weren’t seriously looking for a dog to adopt until we spotted Thor, a 5 month lab/Staffordshire mix on Petfinder. As soon as I saw him I fell in love. I read his bio and showed my wife who also fell head over heels for him. I immediately contacted Gina and asked about Thor. Unfortunately, I was told that Thor was already in the process of being adopted by another family. I filled out the application and told Gina to keep me updated on Thor’s status. I called, emailed, and texted Gina (I pestered Gina) about Thor for days. She told me the other family fell through and Thor still needed a home. I was so overjoyed that I couldn’t stop smiling. Thor seemed so happy to meet my family. Even though he doesn’t like to cuddle he’s still really sweet. He follows us to every room we go (walking between our legs) and loves to learn. He knows sit, leave it, shake, drop it, lay down, and up. He’s now learning stay and roll over. Thor loves to run and will grab his leash in an attempt to persuade me to run with him. My puppy’s legs don’t move in the direction they are intended every time and Thor will cut in front of me and almost make us both fall during a jog or short sprint. Thor’s 2 favorite things are long long walks (with a few short jogs sprinkled in) and making new friends at the dog park. He will run and run until he’s too pooped to walk. But that’s my boy and we love him. Thank you again Gina (for everything). ~ Jamal, LaQuetta, and Isaiah. |
Gus is enjoying his new digs and eating every morsel of food like a maniac. He is difficult to photograph because he is constantly playing! Everyone loves him -- Even the dog is sort of tolerating him (esp. when Walter holds the kitty). We ♥ him! ~ The Wolf Family NJ |
